This game was not the best game that Greenville Oaks has played. In fact, it was a heartbreaker, as the team dropped the game in the final inning as Suncreek UMC hit a 3 run walk off homerun in the bottom of the 6th inning to win 14 - 13.
"We had our ups and downs tonight," Coach Brokaw said after the game. "You usually expect to win when your offense puts up 13 runs, but we just couldn't pull it out tonight. They had their bats working as well."
It was the second matchup of the Summer between Greenville and Suncreek. Greenville won the first matchup, but could not complete the season sweep. Greenville goes into the final game of the season hoping to remain above .500 for the 2nd straight season. They face a tough task, as they will face the number 1 ranked team the RCN Stars at 7:30 pm next Monday night.
